John Ballantyne’s PRIME PRINE

John Ballantyne’s Crazy Heart pays tribute to one of Chicago’s greatest songwriters, John Prine, along with a sampling of his peers and friends such as Steve Goodman and Kris Kristofferson. But it’s done in the honky-tonk style with a few allegedly-true tales thrown in. It’s the Bakersfield beat of Buck Owens and the Texas twang of Billy Joe Shaver adding power to the poetry of the pride of Maywood, Illinois.

The repertoire includes:
Angel From Montgomery
Bruised Orange (Chain Of Sorrow)
